Romania captain Vlad Chiriches has insisted that his team will attack France in the opening match of Euro 2016.
On Friday night, this year's European Championships will officially begin as tournament hosts France welcome underdogs Romania to Paris.
Chiriches has paid tribute to the strength of Romania's opponents in the French capital, but is confident that his team's 'focus and strengths will be a match for the hosts'.
"Yes, we can't wait for this competition to start and, of course, we want to score some goals. We know that they're a very powerful, a very strong side and they have players that play their club football at the best clubs across the continent," Chiriches told reporters.
"We hope that because of our concentration, our focus and our strengths we will be a match for them. The message [to the Romania fans] would be get behind us, support us - we want to hear them inside the Stade de France and I hope that we're going to win the match and not disappoint them."
Former Tottenham Hotspur defender Chiriches currently represents Napoli in Serie A.
