Ross County have announced the signing of former Partick Thistle midfielder Blair Spittal.
The 23-year-old has agreed a two-year deal with the newly-promoted Staggies just days after turning down an offer to remain at Firhill.
Jags boss Gary Caldwell had been keen to tie down the former Queen’s Park and Dundee United playmaker but Spittal has opted to sign on with Steven Ferguson and Stuart Kettlewell’s Dingwall outfit as they gear up for their Ladbrokes Premiership return.
Spittal made 89 appearances for Thistle, scoring 15 goals, after joining from Tannadice in the summer of 2017.
He told RCFC TV: “I’ve been in contact with the club for the last couple of weeks so I’m delighted to get it over the line.
“I played against County last year and saw they had a real winning mentality.
“Coming up here and seeing the facilities on offer has made me realise what an exciting opportunity it is. I can’t wait to get started.
“Hopefully we can take the momentum the club has built over the past year and take that into the new season, then see where that takes us.
“I don’t really go into a season setting targets but we’ve got to look ahead and be positive.”
