Rotherham United manager Steve Evans has claimed that his side's display in the League One playoff semi-final first leg against Preston North End, which finished 1-1, is a good sign ahead of the second leg at New York Stadium.
The Millers took the lead through Alex Revell in the first half, but were pegged back in the second half after a volley from Preston striker Joe Garner.
Evans told reporters after the game: "I thought that we defended from the front with [Alex] Revell and [Wes] Thomas and I also think that we attacked from the back.
"We caused a good team some real problems. We sat back and looked at their team from a distance, every managers looks at the others and breaks them down, but it really is quite scary the players that Preston have got.
"To come to Deepdale and play like that then it gives us a chance at New York."
The second leg will take place next Thursday.
