Romain Hamouma scored the only goal of the game as Saint-Etienne claimed a 1-0 victory from their home clash with Evian TG this afternoon.
Goalscoring opportunities were hard to come by during the opening 45 minutes, with both goalkeepers being spared any real testing action.
The hosts were more positive after the restart, but it looked as though they were going to have to settle for a share of the spoils despite their domination.
However, with 12 minutes left to play, Hamouma got ahead of his marker to head in a cross from Francois Clerc and in doing so sealed the win for the home team.
