Saint-Etienne have moved to within a point of fourth-place Marseille in Ligue 1 with a 1-0 win over Nantes.
Franck Tabanou's goal on 18 minutes was enough for the home side, who closed the gap on the final European place in France's top division.
Tabanou curled home a free kick for Les Verts but had to be replaced moments later after picking up an injury.
Benjamin Corgnet delivered an inviting cross for Melvut Erding, but the Turk was unable to control before the shot was snuffed out by the Saint-Etienne defence in what was an uneventful second period.
