Sampdoria came from behind to earn a 1-1 draw with city rivals Genoa in the Derby della Lanterna this evening.
The match was due to be played on Saturday, but a waterlogged pitch at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris saw it delayed by 72 hours.
When it finally got underway, it was the visitors who took the lead in the 17th minute as M'Baye Niang's low ball across the box was slotted in at the back post by Iago Falque.
However, just two minutes later Sampdoria drew level through Eder, who stole the ball from Facundo Roncaglia before guiding an effort into the far corner and beyond Mattia Perin.
Stefano Okaka then wasted a great chance to give the hosts the lead when he was picked out by Afriyie Acquah, but from just a few yards out he somehow put the ball over the bar.
A number of stoppages saw the game become fractured after the break, yet Sampdoria had another huge opportunity to score a second.
Pedro Obiang found himself through on goal after a mistake from Juraj Kucka, but with just Perin to beat, he blazed over.
Deep into stoppage time Genoa almost claimed the points when Kucka headed against the bar and Andrea Bertolacci saw his effort from the rebound saved, but neither side were able to find a second goal and it ended all square.
The result means that both teams now have 36 points in the Serie A table, with Genoa ahead of their neighbours in sixth place on goal difference.
