Sampdoria have maintained their unbeaten start to the Serie A season by earning a goalless draw against Sassuolo this afternoon.
The visitors almost opened the scoring in the first two minutes of the match with Matias Silvestre and Manolo Gabbiadini both seeing shots blocked following a goalmouth scramble.
The visitors immediately went down the other and Antonio Floro Flores fired in a long-range strike that ended up just wide of the post.
Eder then drilled a shot from just outside the box wide for Sampdoria, before Floro Flores saw his low effort kept out by Emiliano Viviano.
Just past the hour-mark, Matteo Brighi was found with space inside the box, but he could only poke his effort wide of the target.
As the match entered the final ten minutes, Sergio Floccari showed good skill to evade the Sampdoria defence and burst into the box, before drilling in a low strike that was beaten away by the keeper.
Gonzalo Bergessio came close to snatching Sampdoria the three points in stoppage time, but his low effort was saved by Andrea Consigli as the game finished level.
