Frosinone picked up their second Serie A victory of the season by beating Sampdoria 2-0 at the Stadio Matusa this afternoon.
Luis Muriel almost broke the deadlock in the opening moments when he broke clear of the defence and fired in a low strike that went under the keeper, before bouncing back out off the post.
Midway through the first half Frosinone came close to finding the net, but Luca Paganini could only turn the ball wide after being found in space at the back post.
The teams headed into the break on level terms, but within eight minutes of the second half the hosts took the lead when Paganini headed in from a corner.
It got even better for Frosinone just moments later, as Federico Dionisi raced onto Raman Chibsah's ball over the top, before keeping his composure to chip an effort over the stranded Emiliano Viviano.
Sampdoria then struggled to come up with a response, as the home side held on to record a valuable win in their battle to stay in the top flight.
