Sinisa Mihajlovic has extended his contract as Sampdoria manager until the end of the 2015 season.
The 45-year-old signed a deal which expires in the summer when he was appointed in November 2013.
The Genoa outfit were in relegation trouble when Mihajlovic left his post with the Serbian national team to take charge at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris, but he eventually guided them to a 12th-place Serie A finish.
Sampdoria announced on Monday that their former defender, who also played for Inter Milan and Lazio in Italy, has now committed himself to the club for a further year.
Mihajlovic recently described his Sampdoria tenure as an "eight out of 10" thus far.
