Cyril Thereau cancelled out Simone Zaza's opener as Sassuolo and Udinese battled to a 1-1 draw in their Serie A clash this evening.
The opening exchanges to the game were quiet, but Zaza put Sassuolo in front on 15 minutes with a header following good work by Sime Vrsaljko.
Vrsaljko fired a shot high and wide moments after the goal, before Thereau added to the most entertaining period of the game with an equaliser for Udinese.
Following the restart, Panagiotis Kone did well to feed Thereau, but the striker's effort was saved by Andrea Consigli.
In response, Sassuolo's Domenico Berardi fashioned himself some space outside the box before seeing his shot blocked.
Francesco Acerbi headed wide from a free kick as neither side could find a winner in the final stages.
