German club Schalke have offered veteran striker Raul a one-year extension to his contract.
The Spanish forward's current deal is due to expire at the end of the season, meaning that he will be a free agent.
However, Schalke director Clemens Tonnies has revealed that the club are hoping to keep hold of the 34-year-old for another season.
"We have made him a good offer for one season. It's now up to him to make a decision. We expect a decision in the upcoming weeks," Tonnies told Sky TV.
Raul has found the net on 11 occasions so far this campaign.
