Scotland manager Gordon Strachan has given Stevie May and Ryan Gauld their first Scotland call-ups.
The pair, who both left Scottish league clubs over the summer, have been named in Strachan's squad for next month's Euro 2016 qualifiers against Georgia and Poland.
"They are good young players. I like to do that. If you look at the squads over the last year or so, I like to bring in people that I don't know personally," Strachan told reporters.
"I don't know them personally but I like to see how they deal with the squad and I just like to meet these young players. I'm sure in the future they will make an impression and will be regulars in the squad.
"It's good to meet them and see how they interact with the rest of the squad."
May, 21, has scored three goals in eight Championship games for Sheffield Wednesday since a move from St Johnstone, while Gauld, 18, was included in Sporting Lisbon's Champions League squad following his big-money switch from Dundee United.
