Sunderland striker Steven Fletcher will be overlooked for selection for the Scotland team even if he makes himself available, according to reports.
The 25-year-old reportedly turned down multiple opportunities to represent his country over the past two years and failed to register an interest in being selected.
However, the Shrewsbury-born player recently tweeted a change in heart and when asked, "Would you pull on your Scotland jersey next month if Craig Levein asked you to come back?", he tweeted: "Yes."
Despite the turnaround Scotland boss Levein is likely to ignore Fletcher's new status and continue to snub the former Wolverhampton Wanderers forward, according to BBC Scotland.
Fletcher has scored three goals in two games since joining Sunderland for £14m.
