Scotland boss Gordon Strachan has revealed that he expects Wednesday's international friendly against England to be "competitive".
It had been suggested that the match could be played at a pre-season pace with the start of the Premier League to come three days later, but Strachan has insisted that his side are desperate to overcome the Three Lions.
"It is a friendly and a celebration of football but the game is going to be competitive. When I was a player and manager friendly games didn't really turn me on. But this is a bit different," he told reporters at a press conference.
Strachan took charge of Scotland in January of this year.
