How Scotland could line up against Netherlands

:Headline: How Scotland could line up against Netherlands:
Sports Mole takes an in-depth look at how Scotland could line up for Wednesday's International Friendlies clash with Netherlands.

With their first major tournament since 1998 on the horizon in just under two weeks, the Scotland team will look to prepare as they take on Netherlands in a friendly in Portugal.

Steve Clarke has several injury concerns to contend with, as Sheffield United forward Oli McBurnie was unable to make the squad for Euro 2020 due to a foot injury, while Ryan Fraser is in the squad but remains a doubt having missed the final portion of the domestic season.

Their attacking ranks were recently bolstered though, as Southampton striker Che Adams pledged his allegiance to the national team, and he will hope to cement his place in the starting XI for the European Championships.

Given the injuries going forward, Adams could be joined in attack by Queens Park Rangers man Lyndon Dykes, who has improved his claim for a starting spot with a strong season in the Championship, netting 12 goals alongside five assists.

Adams netted his first Scotland goal in his third international appearance, as the Tartan Terriers cruised to a 4-0 victory over Faroe Islands in March.

John McGinn netted a brace in that match, and the tenacious Aston Villa midfielder will be a key man in their international campaign.

He will be joined by the likes of Scott McTominay and Callum McGregor in an impressive midfield unit, while Billy Gilmour will also be hopeful of breaking into the starting side, having recently lifted the Champions League trophy with Chelsea.

Meanwhile, Clarke's side are arguably strongest on the left-hand side, with Arsenal left-back Kieran Tierney expected to operate on the left of a back three, while Liverpool defender Andrew Robertson will cover both attacking and defensive responsibilities from a wing-back role, as well as leading the side as captain.

Tierney should be joined by Norwich City defender Grant Hanley and Leeds United captain Liam Cooper in the defence, shielding the experienced David Marshall between the sticks.

Scotland possible starting lineup: Marshall; Hanley, Cooper, Tierney; O'Donnell, McGinn, McTominay, McGregor, Robertson; Dykes, Adams
