Nigeria score a last-minute goal to share a 2-2 draw with Scotland in their international friendly at Craven Cottage.

Nigeria scored a last-minute equaliser to share a 2-2 draw with Scotland in their international friendly at Craven Cottage this evening.

The match hit the headlines earlier this week when the National Crime Agency announced that it had launched a match-fixing investigation into the tie.

Joel Chukwuma Obi led an early charge by the designated home side, resulting in Michael Uchebo testing Allan McGregor, but the Scots were able to survive the pressure.

The visitors caught Nigeria out with a quick attack down the other end, resulting in a corner that Charlie Mulgrew was able to flick into the top of the net for his second international goal.

Ejike Uzoenyi tried to get the Super Eagles back on level terms just before the half-hour mark, but his 30-yard effort failed to trouble McGregor, while the Hull City keeper denied Shola Ameobi a few minutes later.

However, Nigeria ensured that they equalised before the break when Uchebo found space in the box to deflect a strike into the back of the net.

Scotland were back in front early in the second half when Azubuike Egwuekwe tried to clear from a James Morrison touch, only to head the ball into his own net.

The visitors thought that they had increased their lead with just over an hour played, but Shaun Maloney was offside as he tapped in, resulting in his finish being disallowed.

Nigeria came close to getting back on level terms again inside the final five minutes, when Nwofor Uche came off the bench to create several chances.

The striker eventually found the target in the final minute before stoppage time, squeezing the ball in from a tight ankle to ensure that the sides finished level.
