A Kenny Miller equaliser has ensured that Scotland are level with Macedonia at half-time in Glasgow.
The Scottish fans were silenced in the 11th minute when Ivan Trickovski delivered a fierce cross towards Nikolce Noveski, who applied a good finish despite appearing to be in an offside position.
Craig Levein's side struggled to recover from the early setback and could have been further behind on the half-hour mark but Allan McGregor reacted well to keep out a powerful shot from Agim Ibraimi.
The home side's best chance of the first period came just moments after McGregor's save, with Andy Webster sending his header wide of the target.
Shaun Maloney's free kick was then pushed away by Martin Bogatinov as the hosts continued to apply pressure.
Miller then equalised just minutes later with an accurate finish after good work by Jamie Mackie.
