Scunthorpe United chairman Peter Swann vows to make additional funds available to manager Brian Laws following Gary Hooper's £5m transfer from Celtic to Norwich City.

Scunthorpe United chairman Peter Swann has vowed to make additional funds available to manager Brian Laws following Gary Hooper's £5m transfer from Celtic to Norwich City.

The Iron, who agreed a sell-on clause when they sold the 25-year-old to Celtic in July 2010, will receive a significant percentage of the fee that the Canaries paid the Scottish champions last month. It is believed that the Scunthorpe will gain around £500,000.

During an official Twitter question and answer session, when asked if the Hooper money would be reinvested into the squad, Swann's response was a simple, yet emphatic, "yes".

Swann, who became chairman in May, also said that he is at Scunthorpe for the "long term" and that the club will only consider relocating from Glanford Park if they can avoid getting into debt by doing so.
