Senegal got their Africa Cup of Nations campaign under way with a comfortable 2-0 win against Tanzania.
The Lions of Teranga have never won the competition but are among this year's favourites, with Liverpool forward Sadio Mane headlining a strong-looking squad.
Mane was suspended for their Group C opener in Cairo but it did not matter as goals from Keita Balde Diao and Krepin Diatta sealed victory.
M'Baye Niang had wasted two great chances early on, shooting straight at Tanzania goalkeeper Aishi Manula, before Balde Diao opened the scoring after 28 minutes.
The chances continued to come for Senegal but it was not until the 64th minute that Diatta doubled the lead with a tremendous finish from long range.
Ismaila Sarr nearly added a third goal late on but two was enough as Aliou Cisse's side won well on a warm evening in the Egyptian capital.
