Sevilla president Jose Castro has insisted that his team's main priority this season is to enjoy another successful La Liga season.
Unai Emery's side finished fifth in Spain's top flight last season, just two points behind third-placed and then reigning champions Atletico Madrid.
Success in the Europa League brought a spot in the group stages of this season's Champions League, but Castro has said that European football is just a bonus rather than the main focus.
"Obviously the league isn't as we would like. If the season ended now it would be a total failure but there are 32 days to go and the start we've had should only be an anecdote," AS quotes Castro as saying.
"We have the squad to have a good season and let's hope that's how it is. We won at home in the Champions League and we want people to count on us.
"It's logical that the priority is the league because that's what brings us here. I don't know how Unai Emery will manage the squad because that's his job, and to do it well."
Sevilla, who face Juventus in the Champions League on Wednesday, have only won one of their first six league games this season.
