Sevilla president Jose Maria del Nido has insisted that Unai Emery's position as manager is safe.
The Spanish outfit, who lost 3-1 to Valencia at the weekend, are yet to record a La Liga win this season, but Del Nido has quelled suggestions that the head coach could leave.
"When it was 0-0 when each of us had chances to score, neither side managed... we have not had the general attitude necessary at certain moments," Del Nido told reporters at a press conference. "Overall, Valencia have had a great desire to achieve their goal and we have not done more than defend, unable to get out.
"And that against a team like Valencia, injured, with quality players, leaves us with a 3-1 defeat. Considering the position of the coach? When there have been 14 signings and the team has changed radically, it would not be good for the project.
"You have to be calm, we have been to Camp Nou and Mestalla, have hosted Atletico Madrid, and that should be taken into account. I think that Sevilla should now start to move up from the lower positions in the table."
Sevilla are currently at the bottom of La Liga.
