Jesus Navas has refused to reveal whether he is close to sealing a return to Sevilla.
Navas, 31, is available on a free transfer this summer after leaving Manchester City following the expiration of his deal.
It had initially been suggested that Sevilla had been priced out of a move for the Spaniard, but the club's president Jose Castro has confirmed that a "pretty generous" offer has been made to bring the attacker back to the Estadio Ramon.
Navas is believed to have met with Sevilla on Friday to discuss a return to Spain, but the experienced attacker has refused to reveal whether he is closing in on a move.
"We have to wait," Marca quotes Navas as saying.
Navas joined Man City from Sevilla in the summer of 2013, and he scored eight times in 183 appearances for the Citizens, winning one Premier League title and two League Cups in the process.
At Sevilla, he scored 35 times in 393 appearances between 2003 and 2013.
