Sports Mole rates the individual performances from Shakhtar Donetsk's 5-0 thrashing of BATE Borisov in the Champions League.

Luiz Adriano scored a hat-trick as Shakhtar Donetsk cruised to a 5-0 victory over BATE Borisov in the Champions League this evening.

The Brazilian also provided an assist for Alex Teixeira after captain Darijo Srna had opened the scoring in the first half in Lviv.

The Belarusian champions faced an uphill battle after the break following Anri Khagush's sending-off just before the half-time whistle.

Here, Sports Mole rates the individual performances from both sets of players in the Group H clash.

SHAKHTAR DONETSK

Goal

Andriy Pyatov: It is difficult to criticise the Shakhtar goalkeeper, as he did not really have a lot to do. BATE had just one effort on target in the first half, which was comfortably saved by Pyatov, who was otherwise a spectator. (5/10)

Defence

Viacheslav Shevchuk: The defender made some vital blocks late in the first half as BATE tried to get back on level terms before being taken off with 25 minutes to spare as the home side changed to a more attacking system. (6/10)

Ivan Ordets: Ordets was solid at the back during BATE's strong spell just before the break, and helped create a few chances up front in the second half, while also taking on a couple of testing shots himself. (7/10)

Darijo Srna: The captain led his side superbly, opening the scoring in the first half with a deflected effort from near the edge of the box, and provided a number of through-balls for the likes of Taison and Luiz Adriano throughout the 90 minutes. (8/10)

Yaroslav Rakitskiy: Like Ordets, Rakitskiy spend the first help helping limit the number of chances that the visitors had, before coming forward more often after the break to help the hosts run up the score. (7/10)

Midfield

Fernando: The midfielder did not see a great deal of action in the box, but he was busy in midfield winning the ball, particularly in the first half when BATE provided more resistance. He was taken off with 25 minutes to spare. (6/10)

Douglas Costa: Costa could easily have claimed a couple of goals for himself and set up several chances for Adriano, including the stoppage time goal which gave the striker his hat-trick. His pace proved far too much for the Borisov back four throughout the evening. (8/10)

Taison: The winger produced tons of pace and a series of excellent deliveries into the box for Adriano and Teixeira. He did run out of steam towards the end though, being taken off with just over 15 minutes still to play. (7/10)

Attack

Luiz Adriano: The Brazilian has haunted the Belarus side over the last two matches! After a five-goal performance last time out, the striker continued his fine form in front of goal with another hat-trick, including a penalty. He could have had more as well, and also provided the assist for Teixeira's second-half goal. (9/10)

Alex Teixeira: Teixeira looked dangerous from the start, linking up superbly with Adriano throughout, and he made the most of the extra pace provided by Khagush's sending-off to score early in the second half. (8/10)

Substitutes

Marlos: The winger replaced Shevchuk for the final 25 minutes, and added a fresh injection of pace going forward. He set up a few chances, and was unlucky not to find the back of the net himself, firing inches wide. (7/10)

Fred: The Brazilian took over from compatriot Fernando with 25 minutes to play, and helped keep Adriano looking sharp in front of goal until the full-time whistle. (6/10)

Bernard: Bernard created a few goal-scoring opportunities after replacing Taison late on, but did not add much to the already excellent Shakhtar attack. (5/10)

BATE BORISOV

Goal

Sergey Chernik: The BATE goalkeeper had a much better night than he did against Shakhtar last month, and made some brilliant saves to prevent the defeat being even heavier, but he probably could have done better with the fifth goal at least. (4/10)

Defence

Vitali Gajduchik: The defender could do little to halt Teixeira and Adriano, losing out to both on numerous occasions throughout the evening, doing little to slow the attack down the left flank. (3/10)

Anri Khagush: The centre back had not done a great deal before earning himself a booking for shoving Adriano, followed by a second yellow moments later for arguing with the referee. He left his teammates with too much to take on after the break. (1/10)

Filip Mladenovic: Mdladenovic did make some decent blocks and clearances at the back for the visitors, but also gave away numerous free kicks, particularly in the second half, while struggling to cope with the pace of his opponents. (5/10)

Denis Polyakov: Polyakov had a mixed night in defence, helping break down several moves for the visitors, but also struggling to mark Adriano throughout the 90 minutes. (4/10)

Midfield

Evgeni Yablonski: The defensive midfielder had been pretty anonymous before bundling Adriano down in the box in the second half to give the striker his first goal of the evening. He was taken off moments later. (2/10)

Aleksandr Karnitskiy: Karniskiy was the best player on the pitch for BATE. He led a number of attacking moves before the break while the visitors were still in contention, and also helped out in defence to try and slow the Shakhtar attack down after the break. (7/10)

Aliaksandr Volodko: The pacy midfielder showed some promise going forward in the first half, but had to drop back after the break to try to help out at the back, and struggled to get away on the counter-attack. (4/10)

Mikhail Gordejchuk: Like the majority of the midfield, Gordejchuk had to spend most of his night helping out at the back, struggling to win the ball to go on the attack. (4/10)

Andriy Yakovlev: Yakovlev was involved in a couple of half-chances in the first half for the visitors, but was sacrificed before the start of the second half following Khagush's dismissal. (4/10)

Attack

Nikolai Signevick: The striker was involved in BATE's best attacking move of the second half, but failed to spot that he had support with him, and was crowded out before he could have a shot. He was taken off with 20 minutes still to play. (4/10)

Substitutes

Maksim Volodko: Volodko replaced Yablonski after he gave away a penalty, and actually did give the visitors hope of a late consolation with a couple of strong runs forward, but ultimately could not set up an on-target shot. (5/10)

Edgar Olekhnovich: The defensive midfielder replaced Yakovlev following the red card incident, but did little to sure up the visitors at the back, as they let in four goals in the second half. (3/10)

Vitali Rodionov: The striker came on for Signevich with 20 minutes to play, but his teammates were unable to provide him with much service up front in the closing stages. (2/10)
