Shakhtar Donetsk's Donbass Arena has been hit by shelling, causing two large explosions and damage to the North-Western facade of the stadium.
The explosions are reported to have happened at 6am local time, with the Ukrainian club confirming on their website that nobody was injured.
"On August 23, at 6am, two powerful explosions occurred at Donbass Arena," a statement on the club's website read.
"As a result of shelling, there are numerous damages of the northwestern facade of the stadium, communications, equipment and detached building of the energy centre, which is located in the northern part of the Donbass Arena park."
Shakhtar have previously revealed plans of a move to the West of Ukraine to avoid political conflict in the East.
Several of Shakhtar's players failed to return to the club amid fears for their own safety.
