Fleetwood Town have strengthened their squad with the loan signing of Sheffield United forward Ched Evans.
New boss Joey Barton has been proactive in the transfer market since arriving at the League One outfit, but the addition of Evans - his eighth in total - represents his most high-profile to date.
Evans failed to score in 13 appearances in all competitions last season, but Barton has said that the opportunity to sign the experienced Welshman was too good to turn down.
Barton told the club's official website: "When the opportunity came to get Ched on loan – a goalscorer who is proven at League One and the Championship – we knew we had to take it.
"He is a player with great calibre and adds to our already strong attacking line-up of Paddy Madden, Ash Hunter, Conor McAleny, Bobby Grant, Wes Burns and Ashley Nadesan. We have some really good options in that department of the pitch."
Fleetwood begin their third-tier campaign with a home fixture against AFC Wimbledon on August 4.
