Sheffield Wednesday have signed free agent Stephen McPhail on a short-term contract.
The veteran midfielder has entered a deal with the club that will keep him at Hillsborough until January next year.
McPhail, who has represented the Republic of Ireland at international level, has been without a club since parting company with Cardiff City at the end of last season.
The 33-year-old has been assigned the number 27 shirt at Hillsborough and goes straight into the squad for this Saturday's visit to Birmingham City.
