A second-half strike from Milan Lalkovic has clinched all three points for Walsall in their League One match against Shrewsbury Town this afternoon.
Gozie Ugwu had a series of chances for the home side in the first half, while Craig Westcarr tested Chris Weale early on for the visitors.
Romaine Sawyers came closest to breaking the deadlock in the opening 45 minutes when he saw his right-footed effort tipped wide by Weale 26 minutes in.
Westcarr continued to look a threat at the start of the second half, but it was Lalkovic who found the back of the net for Walsall, tapping in from a Sam Mantom cross.
The hosts pushed for a swift equaliser, but Tom Eaves fired a couple of chances off target, while Mantom had an effort stopped on the line.
The result lifts Walsall up to 10th in the League One table, while Shrewsbury slip to 13th.
