Shrewsbury turned on the style in the second half as they easily saw off the challenge of bottom-placed Hartlepool with a 2-0 victory this afternoon.
The first half was a deplorable affair but Andrew Mangan sparked his team into life four minutes after the interval. Mangan did well down the left-hand side before cutting infield and shooting across goal into the bottom corner.
Salop kept the pressure up and a Bobby Grant cross was knocked down by Mangan to allow James Collins to fire in from inside the box.
Their third came after a Jermaine Grandison header was tipped behind, the resulting corner allowing Mangan to glance a header into the net for his second goal of the afternoon.
Hartlepool remain bottom of the table while Shrewsbury are up to fourth in the league.
