Southampton defender Nathaniel Clyne has said that he is hopeful of earning a call-up to the England squad.
The 23-year-old has started the season in good form and scored the winning goal for his club in their League Cup victory over Arsenal in midweek.
Clyne has played at Under-21 level for England and he believes that if he maintains his current standard of performances then a cap at senior level is within his reach.
"I think I've done pretty well and have got to keep performing well and hopefully my chance will come soon. If I can do well I can get the call-up," The Mirror quotes him as saying.
Clyne is in his third season at Southampton, having joined the club from Crystal Palace in 2012.
