Southampton winger Eljero Elia has thanked manager Ronald Koeman, after scoring twice in their 2-1 win at Newcastle United.
Elia signed a loan deal with the South Coast club at the beginning of the month and netted his first goals since arriving at St Mary's in the win over the Magpies, which moves Southampton up to third in the Premier League table.
He told reporters: "I want to thank first my teammates and the trainer and the chairman for trusting in me and giving me the chance to play for Southampton.
"The feeling for the first goal was like a dream come true. On the second goal it was like I don't feel nothing in my body and I was so happy."
Elia had played nine games for parent club Werder Bremen this season but had failed to score prior to his move.
