Southampton have confirmed that they are investigating an alleged bottle-throwing incident involving goalkeeper Artur Boruc and a host of Saints supporters.
The 32-year-old has been accused of throwing a water bottle into the home crowd in a moment of frustration during Southampton's 2-1 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur at St Mary's at the weekend.
While original reports had claimed that the former Championship club had decided against taking action, the Saints have since confirmed that they will look into claims made regarding the Polish shot-stopper.
It has also been alleged that Boruc swore at supporters after receiving negative reactions from the crowd following a mistake that allowed Spurs forward Clint Dempsey to find the back of the net.
Southampton manager Nigel Adkins revealed that he was "unaware" of the incident at the time.
