Southampton have reportedly made a £17.5m bid for Monaco forward Guido Carrillo.
The 26-year-old is currently in his third season with Monaco, and scored seven times in 19 league appearances during the club's title-winning 2016-17 campaign.
Carrillo is behind Radamel Falcao in the pecking order at Monaco, but he has still managed four Ligue 1 goals in 15 appearances this season.
The Argentine also appeared in five of Monaco's six matches in the group stage of the Champions League.
According to The Sun, Southampton have identified the forward as the perfect player to ease their recent troubles, and a bid in the region of £17.5m has been lodged with the view to completing a deal this month.
The Saints are currently without the services of leading scorer Charlie Austin, while Shane Long and Manolo Gabbiadini have both struggled this season.
