Southampton have reportedly made an approach to sign Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly.
The 24-year-old, who joined the Serie A side from Genk last summer, is thought to have struggled to adapt to life in Italy and is looking to move on.
Koulibaly, who can play as a centre-back, right-back or defensive midfielder, is a former France Under-20 international.
Southampton boss Ronald Koeman has been linked with several defenders this summer, including Celtic's Virgil van Dijk.
According to Sky Italia, Napoli are willing to sell Koulibaly and Koeman will step up talks with the player in the next few days.
Koulibaly has made 14 appearances in all competitions for Napoli.
