Spartak Moscow winger Quincy Promes has reportedly emerged as a transfer target for Southampton.
Last year, Promes was linked with a transfer to Liverpool, with boss Jurgen Klopp openly acknowledging that he was an admirer of the Netherlands international.
However, Liverpool's interest appears to have cooled, and it has been suggested that Southampton are ready to make their move for the 26-year-old.
According to Sky Sports News, head coach Mauricio Pellegrino has identified Promes as a potential signing before the end of the January window.
The Saints have funds to spend after selling Virgil van Dijk to Liverpool for £75m, and strengthening in attack has been made a priority by Pellegrino.
Spartak are allegedly prepared to hold out for £30m for a player who has netted 53 goals in 101 league appearances and still has three years remaining on his contract.
