Southampton have terminated the contract of Italian forward Dani Osvaldo.
The 29-year-old initially joined the Saints on a four-year deal from Roma in August 2013, but struggled to adapt to life in England and was sent on loan to Juventus in January of the same season.
Another loan spell at Inter Milan followed, before the forward returned to Argentina with Boca Juniors in February 2015.
Osvaldo returned to England following the expiration of his loan deal with Boca, but he has been immediately released by Southampton and will now be available on a free transfer.
"Southampton football club can confirm that it has terminated the contract of striker Dani Osvaldo. The Italian international, who has not played for the club since January 2014, yesterday completed a loan spell with Argentinian club Boca Juniors," read a statement on Southampton's official website.
Osvaldo has played for 11 clubs during his professional career.
