Goals from Paco Alcacer and David Silva have given Spain a 2-0 half-time lead against Luxembourg in their Euro 2016 qualifying campaign.
Manchester City playmaker Silva gave his side the advantage with a superb long-range effort before Valencia youngster Alcacer doubled the lead towards the end of the half.
La Roja had a number of decent openings throughout the half with Chelsea's Diego Costa at the centre of the action.
The centre-forward went close on 19 minutes when he fired wide of the post after bursting into the box moments after forcing Jonathan Joubert into a save.
Costa was denied again shortly before the opener when he fired straight at the goalkeeper when well placed before Silva arrowed a shot into the top corner.
Costa's frustrating night in front of goal continued shortly after Silva's strike when he somehow fired wide under no pressure from the defence.
With the first half drawing to a close, Alcacer doubled the advantage with a smart finish to put Vicente del Bosque's side firmly in the driving seat at the interval.
