Villarreal defender Mario Gaspar has revealed his delight after marking his Spain debut on Monday with their winner against Ukraine.
The full-back was handed his first international start in Kiev and proved the matchwinner as La Roja ended their Euro 2016 qualifying campaign with a 1-0 victory in Kiev.
Mario has said that it was "a dream" to score on his debut and has also paid tribute to Thiago for providing the cross in the first half.
"It was a dream to debut and to do it with a win and to get the goal, it has been a great day. This is a great group [of players]. I felt one of them from the beginning and I am very grateful," Marca quotes Mario as saying.
"I saw Thiago [Alcantara] reach the byline and that the left-back had moved to the centre, so there was a free space. [The cross] reached my head and so I tried to score from there."
Dani Carvajal and Juanfran are currently Spain's two first-choice right-backs.
