Spain boss Vicente del Bosque has said that Celta Vigo forward Nolito is fully deserving of his call into the latest La Roja squad.
It was suggested in some quarters that Del Bosque had only named Nolito due to Spain's upcoming friendly against Germany being in Vigo, but the manager has rubbished those claims.
"He's adapted well to his new position out wide and that opens the field," he told AS.
"We didn't call him because we're in Vigo. He's earned this with his performances. I don't know if we're late calling him but we're convinced about the decision and he is doing very well this season."
Nolito, 28, has scored 19 goals in 45 league games since joining Celta from Granada in 2013.
