Vicente del Bosque: 'Nobody is safe from cut'

Spain coach Vicente del Bosque promises to make changes to his starting lineup against Chile following the 5-1 defeat to the Netherlands.

Vicente Del Bosque has warned his Spain team that nobody is safe from being dropped following their dismal 5-1 defeat to the Netherlands in their World Cup opener on Friday.

The reigning world champions head into Wednesday's clash with Chile knowing that another defeat could bring an early end to their title defence.

Consequently, Del Bosque has promised that he will make the necessary adjustments in an effort to maintain their bid to progress from Group B and keep alive hopes of retaining their crown.

"It was a hard defeat, but step by step we are accepting that it isn't a crucial loss," he told reporters on Saturday.

"We hope to move on for the next match with all respect to Chile, who also want to qualify for the next stage.

"Of course there will be some changes but I don't want to make any rash decisions; I have until Wednesday to decide who will be dropped. There's no need to single anybody out, we have 23 players available and we'll find the best possible solution."

Chile are second in the group following a 3-1 win over Australia on Friday.
