Sporting Kansas City have returned to the top of the Eastern Conference with a deserved victory over New England Revolution at Gillette Stadium.
Teal Bunbury scored the only goal of the game on 20 minutes, rounding off a determined individual effort with a superb low drive from 10 yards.
Bunbury and Soony Saad were then denied by New England goalkeeper Matt Reis as the visitors pressed for a second goal.
Kei Kamara also had chances to add to Sporting's lead, but the Sierra Leone winger twice failed to hit the target from promising positions.
