Juventus defender Giorgio Chiellini has claimed that he and his teammates knew that they would get a chance against Tottenham Hotspur in their Champions League tie.
The Italian giants had a slight disadvantage heading into the second leg of their last-16 tie due to the two away goals that Spurs nabbed in Turin.
Mauricio Pochettino's side dominated the first half at Wembley and nudged ahead 3-2 on aggregate thanks to Son Heung-min's 39th-minute goal, but Juventus turned things around after the break.
Head coach Massimiliano Allegri switched the formation to 4-4-2 and goals from Gonzalo Higuain and Paulo Dybala were enough to send Juve into the quarter-finals.
After the final whistle, Chiellini told BT Sport: "For us it is an amazing night. it was very difficult and we knew before this match and also before the first game. But we believed it and believed in the win.
"We knew Tottenham have fantastic players, and are an amazing side, but we know they concede many chances every game. And also at the end the first half we believed it, we said keep calm and the chances would surely arrive. We had to be concentrated and score when we had our chances. It was a difficult game but we achieved our target.
"It's the history of Tottenham. They always created many chances to score so much, but at the end they miss always something to arrive at the end. We believe in the history. We saw it yesterday between Paris and Real, the history is important, with experience it is important, and tonight we use our skill and arrive at the win.
"We have improved year by year and match by match and we improve with many players. It is very difficult but we are here."
Juventus, Real Madrid, Liverpool and Manchester City are the only clubs confirmed for the quarter-finals so far.
