Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Dele Alli has admitted that he was growing "frustrated" with himself before scoring during his side's 3-1 victory over CSKA Moscow in the Champions League this evening.
Alli missed a string of clear chances at Wembley and looked to have been punished for his wastefulness when the visitors took the lead, but he quickly atoned with an equaliser within five minutes.
A Harry Kane strike and Igor Akinfeev own goal saw Spurs complete the turnaround and book their place in the Europa League, and Alli insists that he was always confident the chances would come.
"It's frustrating when you don't put away an early chance. I started getting frustrated but it was important I put a chance away," he told BT Sport.
"We have a belief in the squad. We felt we were dominating and knew the chances would come."
The victory was Tottenham's first at Wembley since 2008, ending a run of six consecutive defeats at the stadium.
