Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Hugo Lloris has acknowledged that his club "had bigger expectations" in this season's Champions League.
On Tuesday night, a 2-1 defeat against AS Monaco left Spurs unable to make it through to the last 16 of the competition, and Lloris has admitted that everyone associated with the club is disappointed after losing three of their five group games.
The 29-year-old told Sky Sports News: "All the club were excited to play in this competition, all the players too, but we all fail together. We had bigger expectations in this group stage.
"We are still fighting for the Europa League qualification but I think it's not enough for a club like Tottenham. It's a big disappointment."
Spurs will earn a place in the Europa League if they can avoid defeat against CSKA Moscow in their final fixture in Group E.
