Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has claimed that Harry Kane has a "very similar" mindset to Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo.
The England international boasts impressive scoring figures for the current campaign and the year as a whole, scoring 38 times for his club side since the start of 2017.
Ronaldo, in contrast, has netted on 33 occasions for Los Blancos in all competitions since the turn of the year, but Pochettino believes that the Portuguese superstar was rightly crowned the world's best player by his peers last week.
"He's a phenomenon. He has been awarded 'The Best' and the truth is that he deserves it," he told Marca. "In addition to his qualities as a professional, he is an example. He never tires of repeating that the secret is to work hard, to strive, to take care of himself. Every player should apply it.
"I do not know Cristiano in depth, but he gives me the same feeling as Harry. They are very similar in terms of professionalism. They understand that we must strive to achieve success - [Kane] has a similar mentality."
Only Barcelona forward Lionel Messi has scored more goals than Kane in 2017, finding the net 47 times so far.
