Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Harry Winks has admitted that he is desperate to earn a place in his side's starting lineup for the Champions League meeting with Real Madrid.
The Lilywhites take on the reigning European champions at the Bernabeu on Tuesday night, aiming to build on their perfect start in Group H.
Winks is among the contenders to feature in central midfield, having played a full part in each of Tottenham's last three games either side of the international break, but he acknowledges that there is now serious competition for places.
"Yeah, of course [I want to play]," he told the London Evening Standard. "It's something that everyone wants to do - everyone wants to play, we'll see what happens everyone is going to train well, train hard and see what happens.
"I think the more games we win, the more points we collect and the more confidence we have in the team, we've got a good run going in the Premier League as well as the Champions League."
Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino is expected to be able to call upon Mousa Dembele on Tuesday, as the Belgian midfielder - absent for the past month - is a part of the travelling party.
