Ryan Mason has said that Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has helped him earn an England call-up.
Mason was called up to the England squad after the withdrawal of Adam Lallana due to injury, and could make his debut during Friday's Euro 2016 qualifier against Lithuania or Tuesday's friendly against Italy.
"It's every boy's dream to represent their country at any level, so hopefully I can get that and it would be a great achievement personally," Mason told Sky Sports News.
"It's the pinnacle of your career to represent your country. I've always had confidence in my own ability, but it also comes from a manager who trusts you and is willing to back you. There is nothing like that as a footballer.
"The fact that the call-up has come so early in my Premier League career is a great feeling. It's amazing and has been a bit of a whirlwind over the last few months."
Mason has impressed during his 29 appearances for Tottenham this season.
