Dele Alli admits that it is "disappointing" to have picked up a booking which rules him out of the first leg of Tottenham Hotspur's last-16 Europa League tie.

Dele Alli has admitted that it is "disappointing" to have picked up a booking in Tottenham Hotspur's Europa League last-32 victory over Fiorentina which rules him out of the first leg of their last-16 tie.

The teenager was somewhat fortunate to have not been sent off in the first leg for a kick-out off the ball on Nenad Tomovic, but then tonight was cautioned again for what Romanian official Ovidiu Hategan deemed a dive.

"It's disappointing, you want to play as much as you can but we have great depth," Alli told BT Sport after Spurs' 4-1 aggregate victory over La Viola.

"It was the ref's decision to book me and I've just got to get on with it."

Alli was impressed with Spurs' performance on the night as they eased past the side that knocked them out at the same stage last season.

"We knew they weren't going to make it easy," Alli added. "We said before the game, we said it was important we took our chances."

Fellow Premier League sides Liverpool and Manchester United also joined Spurs in the last 16 of the Europa League with wins over Augsburg and Midtjylland respectively this evening.
