Fiorentina striker Mario Gomez has declared that his team's victory over Tottenham Hotspur in the Europa League is a "big step forward" for the club.
Goals from Gomez and on-loan Chelsea forward Mohamed Salah helped the Italian outfit to a 2-0 win in the second leg of their last-32 tie, and a 3-1 victory on aggregate.
"Can we reach the final? We've made a big step forward and now we must await our next opponents, but we want to win that too," the forward told Mediaset.
"I am very happy for the fans and for the whole city. Our negative moments are now behind us, and I feel good and am playing well.
"We're still in Europe and that is what matters. We are playing like a team. We must continue along this path now, and try not to drop points like we did against Torino."
The draw for the last 16 of the Europa League will take place on Friday.
