Mauricio Pochettino has singled out Harry Kane for praise after Tottenham Hotspur booked their spot in the group stage of the Europa League with a 3-0 victory over AEL Limassol on Thursday night.
Kane missed a penalty early in the match at White Hart Lane before finding the back of the net later in the first half, and his manager was quick to reveal his delight with his contribution to the 5-1 aggregate triumph.
"I have always believed in Harry since the first day," the Argentine told reporters. "That is football. I think it is possible to miss penalties, but it is not important.
"He found a way to score, to play and did not let it affect his performance. It was good.
"He showed character and personality. He has a very strong mind and Harry is a very good player, too."
Spurs will find out who they play in the group stage when the draw takes place on Friday afternoon.
