Tottenham Hotspur and Fulham secured their spots in the fourth round of the FA Cup on Friday evening with victories over Burnley and Rotherham United respectively.

The early start saw Brentford welcome Wolverhampton Wanderers, but the two teams could not be separated, with a 1-1 draw meaning that a replay will be required to determine which side advances in the competition.

Fulham found Rotherham to be tricky opposition at Craven Cottage, but a 24th-minute effort from Bobby De Cordova-Reid meant that Marco Silva's side progressed in the tournament.

The 8pm kickoff saw Tottenham welcome fellow Premier League side Burnley, and a 79th-minute effort from Pedro Porro allowed Spurs to secure their position in the fourth round.

Wolves started well against Brentford, but Gary O'Neil's side were reduced to 10 men in just the ninth minute of the contest, with Joao Gomes shown a straight red card for a poor tackle on Christian Norgaard.

Brentford took the lead shortly before the interval in front of their own fans, with Neal Maupay on the scoresheet, finding the top corner after Wolves failed to deal with a free kick from Mathias Jensen.

Wolves managed to level the scores in the 64th minute through Tommy Doyle, though, finding the top corner with a stunning effort after collecting a pass from Pedro Neto.

The two teams will now meet again in a third-round replay at Molineux, with Wolves showing character to recover from two setbacks in order to claim a draw.

Rotherham gave a strong account of themselves against Fulham, with the Championship outfit proving difficult to break down, but the Whites ensured that they would be present in Monday's fourth-round draw courtesy of a brilliant long-range strike from De Cordova-Reid in the 24th minute.

On a night of excellent goals, arguably the best of the lot came at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, with a stunning strike from Porro deciding the clash with Burnley.

The right-back was allowed to make his way towards the edge of the away side's box before firing a brilliant effort into the corner of the net, sparking jubilant celebrations from the home supporters.

Burnley had 10 attempts during a positive performance, but just one of those was on target, with Spurs deservedly advancing in the competition.

Tottenham will surely view the FA Cup as their best chance of securing silverware this season, and head coach Ange Postecoglou demonstrated that he will be taking the competition seriously by naming a strong XI. body check tags ::
